Utkinton Defibrillator – Cheque Presentation

A message from Matthew Grant about the Defibrillator:

I would like to thank Judith for organising the prize draw to raise funds to mark the 50 years since I had open heart surgery which saved my life.

25 years ago we helped raise funds to put the first defibrillators onto Lancashire ambulances to mark the 25 year anniversary of the operation. It is remarkable that now we can have defibrillators that everyone can use to help save lives.

I’d like to thanks those local companies who gave generously to support the fund raising campaign, The Hollies, The MacDonald Portal Hotel, The Swan, Piste and the Chester Grosvenor and also Shrigley Hall.

We initially planned to raise enough money to replace the theatre defibrillator at the Tarporley Memorial Hospital but we raised enough to also provide one for our village. Thanks must also go to John Johnson for allowing the unit to be fitted at Rose Farm Shop and for providing the power supply and to the Parish Council for your generous contribution to purchase the cabinet that will house the defibrillator.

Finally thanks to those friends, family and neighbours who gave so generously to buy the draw tickets.
