Although the Parish Plan was adopted in 2013 and gave the Parish Council a series of primary themes to follow, there has been a concern that it isn’t strong enough or clear enough to provide a long term template upon which to base the future of the communities that make up the parish.
The four proposed developments (Muir Housing, Plus Dane and Marcol/Vivio – this latter twice) have prompted the Parish Council to consider strengthening the Parish Plan by upgrading it to a Neighbourhood plan and it is their intention to propose a resolution to move this way at the next Parish Council Meeting on 13th September in Utkinton Village Hall. There will be a short presentation by Graham Weaver, who lives in Utkinton but was an integral part of the successful Tattenhall Neighbourhood Plan Team and all residents from Cotebrook and Utkinton are welcome to attend.
If the PC resolves to follow the Neighbourhood Plan option this meeting will be followed up by a full Parish Consultation before the meeting on 11th October and all residents will be notified of the time and place.
The Parish Council would welcome all residents to these meetings.
