The past few months have been littered with bad news about wars and deaths of celebrities and the outcome of ‘Brexit’ et al so its nice to feature a good news story once in a while.
One of our Councillors, Roger Barnes, who also runs ‘Shop’nWash‘ at Rose Farm lost his watch on Big Field Lane a few days ago – he appealed on our Facebook page and the watch was found by a dog owned by Alan Price and returned to a thankful owner.
It put us in mind of the time that the Jules Rimet trophy was stolen just before the 1966 FIFA World Cup Tournament and then found by a dog called ‘Pickles’ – but Roger’s watch held much more sentimental value than the solid gold trophy could ever muster.
Thank you Mr Barnes.
