The closure will come into force on 30th May 2017 and will be in force for a maximum of five days. It is anticipated that the work will last for approximately 2 days weather permitting
Does that mean they are finally going to replace the surface of that part of the road. Or is yet another patch up?

All we can do is report what they have indicated in the TRO. We will, however, ask the question as to what the council are doing. That doesn’t preclude residents from doing the same.

We asked CWaC Highways and this is the response;
“Re: Surfacing at Heaths Lane, Utkinton.
A section of Heaths lane from the junction with Quarry Bank will be resurfaced with the grip fibre micro asphalt process, which has proven to be a successful, durable hard wearing surface in the areas we have treated in previous years.
I have attached a plan to show the extent of the area to be surfaced, and this work is currently scheduled for 30th May 2017. It is expected to be completed in a day, weather permitting.”

Do you know why the resurfacing didn’t happen?

Hello Mel, our apologies for not putting this on the website – we received notification from CWaC that the repairs and resurfacing were much worse than they had expected and as such the type and scale of repair / resurfacing meant it is delayed until August. We will keep you updated via the website
