Work Starts on the War Memorial

Just a short note and a few pictures – Finesse Stone started work this morning (thank goodness it was cool and relatively dry).  Shaun hopes to have the work complete by week-ending 17th August.

How appropriate that the work began on the 100th anniversary of the day William Craven fell. RIP all the Utkinton fallen.

    • Hello David, many thanks to you for your comment – its like being too close to the woods – I hadn’t noticed. Do you have a connection to William Craven?

Good afternoon, yes, the Craven brothers are my descendants. We appreciate the work being done in Utkinton and Tarporley to remember them. Thanks for the updates on the shrine

My great grandmother was Sarah Craven. William and his brother john were my grandad’s cousins. This is the relationship to Joseph Johnson too.
Great to see the work has started on the memorial
