Apropos Voting in Forthcoming Elections

2nd May sees the Parish Council Elections and they are a tad unusual in terms of how to vote.  Just so as not to confuse … when you get to the polling station and receive your ballot paper, for our (UCPC) election you will see 14 names (they are on the previous post) and Utkinton and Cotebrook Parish Council comprises of nine (9) Councillors.

So, you can select between one (1) and nine (9) names and place your cross against them.  If, however, you place a cross against more than nine (9) names then your ballot paper may be declared as ‘spoiled’ and discarded.  We are sure that the Polling Clerk(s) will advise you, but just in case …
