Notice of Vacancy for Parish Councillor to be co-opted

Following the resignation of Parish Councillor I Priestner, a vacancy exists on Utkinton and Cotebrook Parish Council, to be filled by co-option.

Applications are welcomed from those living in the Parish and who fulfil the ‘Eligibility Criteria’ (see below).  Interested parties should submit a letter of application or email, explaining why they would like to be a Parish Councillor, and detailing what they would bring to the role, to:

If there is more than one applicant, applicants may be invited to attend an interview at the meeting of the Parish Council to be held on Tuesday 11^th February 2020 at 7:30 pm in Cotebrook Village Hall (we apologise for the short notice.)

Any person can be elected as a councillor if they are:

1. a British national, commonwealth citizen or a euro-national on the day they are nominated and
2. 18 years of age or over and
3. on the day they are nominated and thereafter they continue to be a local government elector for the area of the authority
4. or has during the whole of the twelve months preceding that day occupied as owner or tenant any land or other premises in that area
5. or their principal or only place of work during that twelve months has been in that area
6. or during the whole of those twelve months has resided in that area
7. or in the case of a member of a parish, town or community council has during the whole of those twelve months resided either in the parish or community or within three miles of it
8. or has not been disqualified.
