Slightly used solar speed sign relocated

Those familiar with Quarry Bank may recall the solar speed limit sign just above the school.  Well, as of this morning, it has been relocated to a position just to the north of the bus stop on John Street and points in the direction of Tirley Garth.

It was relocated because it sat within the 20mph zone and, if drivers are complying with the speed limits, it would never show the speed – hence the ‘slightly used’ wording.

Why by the bus stop?  Well we tried various locations between Tirley Garth and the junction of John Street and Wood Lane and for a variety of reasons, none of them were suitable.

Our thanks go to CWaC Highways who have moved it for us free of  charge – it took quite a while, but we got it eventually.
