We made reference to a suggestion on behalf of a local landowner in the ‘Special Edition’ and would like to ease some concerns that have been expressed.
The Parish Council would like to reassure residents that, at this moment, there are no planning applications to develop the land that is situated just off Quarry Bank and its inclusion in the ‘Courier’ newsletter was not meant to alarm anyone.
However, the Draft Neighbourhood Plan does reflect what was originally in CWaC’s HELAA (Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment) study in 2017, which stated that the site was “Suitable, Available and Achievable” for the development of up to 67 homes.
The Draft Neighbourhood Plan is suggesting that the Parish (council and residents) would wish to see it, and others, designated as ‘protected green spaces’ in accord with the NPPF (National Planning Policy Framework) updated in 2019.
We hope this clarifies the situation and apologise for any confusion and will keep you informed if the situation changes in any way.
