Hot off the press – CWaC Waste Collections

We have yet to confirm the details but have been notified of the following:

A NEW HOUSEHOLD WASTE SYSTEM TO BE INTRODUCED BY CHESHIRE WEST & CHESTER COUNCIL INCLUDING A £40 CHARGE FOR THE GARDEN WASTE.

Following a consultation where 15,000 Cheshire West residents responded, these are the following proposals to be made and, following expected approval, will be introduced.

1. There’ll be a £40 annual charge for your garden waste bin. (You may opt out of garden waste collection if you wish)

2. Recycling will be fortnightly, not weekly.

3. Recycling will now be in wheelie bins, not boxes

4. Food waste remains weekly and in the brown caddies

5. Household waste (black bin) will remain fortnightly.

Cheshire West & Chester Council wishes to state that 60% of councils currently charge for their garden waste.
