The Parish Council is sorry to announce that Cllr Roger Barnes has resigned his position as a councillor. Roger has given his time freely and willingly and has worked hard in his role as a councillors for over ten years and will be sorely missed by his colleagues. We hope that he will continue to be involved in other ways……

Utkinton and Cotebrook Parish is keen to recruit someone who has an interest in the communities of Cotebrook and Utkinton. If you care about our two communities, want to help shape the future and are willing to give time to work for the community please read below to find out more about becoming a Parish Councillor. The role is unpaid although expenses are paid and is the first level of local government.
Parish Councils benefit from diversity and we welcome interest from people of different ages, backgrounds, experiences and abilities. Good communication skills, problem solving, analytical thinking and being a team player are all useful skills, and it doesn’t matter whether you acquired these from your professional life or from community, voluntary or life experience. The most important thing is to demonstrate that you care about Utkinton and Cotebrook and are willing to take an active role.
There are two communities; Cotebrook to the East and Utkinton to the West with a total population of c.725 A part time Clerk/Finance Officer is employed to support the council and carry out decisions made by the Council. A Neighbourhood Plan was ‘made’ in May 2021 and the Parish Council uses this to manage planning across the two communities. |
