Alistair King – RIP

Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre

We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Alistair King following a short illness.

Alistair was a passionate Shire Horseman all of his life, and opening Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre was his way of sharing that passion and love for horses with as many people as possible.

Anyone who came in contact with Alistair at the centre during one of his talks or at the shows with one of the many National Champions that he bred would instantly know just how much Alistair loved his horses and how committed he was to saving this increasingly rare breed.

Alistair was larger than life and made a huge impression on anyone he met both in and away from his horses. The World will be a quieter place without him.

Alistair’s legacy will continue not only in the horses he bred and the bloodline he created but through Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre that is the place it is today because of Alistair’s hard work, commitment and clear sighted vision.

The funeral will take place Thursday 31st at St John and the Holy Cross in Cotebrook.

Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre will be closed to the public on this day.
