At the recent Utkinton and cotebrook Parish Council Meeting (14 March 2023) the following was discussed;
| 14.03.05 | Cheshire West & Chester Council Matters: Cllr Eveleigh Moore-Dutton gave a summary of her monthly report which had been circulated prior to the meeting – see Appendix A. The bus service between Crewe and Chester has now been registered by Stagecoach and not D & G but there are currently no plans to run a service in the evenings or on Sundays. There was a discussion about the need for this service and the Clerk was asked to write to the Transport Commissioner and share the council’s concerns. As part of his role as Vice Chair of CHaLC, Cllr Tunney has become aware of a scheme in Cheshire East called “Go To” which provides minibus services and he will investigate and report back to council. |
The letter (PDF) below is the Clerk’s letter to the Transport Commissioner asking for them to ensure that whatever service is provided is no worse than that currently provided by Arriva (A84) and you should note that one of the bidders to takeover (Stagecoach) is not proposing to run evenings or weekend service.
