The Utkinton Boys – a Play, (Tom Kenny 2018)

On Saturday 30th June seven actors played out a scene from almost 100 years ago entitled ‘The Utkinton Boys’ acted by members of ‘Tarporley Amateur Dramatic Society‘ and written by Tom Kenny from research by the Tarporley Remembers team.

In sweltering heat of about 30 degrees, these talented actors performed in authentic dress and uniforms from the WW1 era and read from letters that had been written from and to the front.  It was an evocative performance and closed with an ‘a capella’ rendition of “Keep the home fires burning” – truly wonderful.

We hope, in time, to be able to publish a video of the performance – well done to all concerned.
